Mirza Ghalib Poetry

Dil Mera Muft Ka Lyrics

Phenke nazar ke sikke usne
Bik gayi hoon main
Usne jo choo liya toh haye
Lagey ke nayi hoon main
Yun toh premi pachattar humare
Leja tu kar satattar ishaare
Dil mera… muft ka
[ka ka ]
Khamkkha hi taraste bichare
Leja tu kar satattar ishaare
Dil mera… muft ka
[ka ka..]
Dil mera… muft ka
Hai naiyyo soneya tere bin guzara
Hai naiyyo soneya tere bin guzara
Hai naiyyo soneya tere bin guzara
Hai naiyyo soneya tere bin guzara
Dil ke dukandar hai doosre bhi
Hum thoda achhe hain, woh hai farebi
Ni me kamli kamli
Ni me kamli kam…..
Haan dil ke dukandar hai doosre bhi
Hum thoda achhe hain, woh hai farebi
Mehnga hai dil, sabke bas ka nahi yeh
Bikna hai par teri khaatir mujhe bhi
Aaj baazar hi bik gaya re
Leja tu kar satattar ishaare
Dil mera… muft ka
[ka ka..]
Ho yun toh premi pachattar humare
Leja tu kar satattar ishaare
Dil mera… muft ka
Ni me kamli kamli
Ni me kamli kam…..
Ni me kamli kamli
Ni me kamli kam…..
Socha tumhara dil bhi hum khareedein
Kya daam hai bolo kaato raseedien
Haye haye..
Socha tumhara dil bhi hum khareedein
Kya daam hai bolo kaato raseedien
Phir tum se karwaale jaisa bhi chahein
Nazarein tumhari meri haazari dein
Par tumhari hi nazaron se haare
Leja tu kar satattar ishaare
Dil mera… muft ka
Haan yun toh premi pachattar humare
Leja tu kar satattar ishaare
Dil mera… muft ka
[ka ka..]
Dil mera… muft ka
Hai naiyyo soneya tere bin guzara
Hai naiyyo soneya tere bin guzara

Papa Toh Band Bajaye

Papa toh band bajaye
Principal khud ban jaaye
Keep quiet rule banaye
Har pal bas yeh chilaaye
Idiot ho, tum gadhe ho
Abhi tumhe knowledge nahi hai
Humse panga lene wali
Abhi tumhari age nahi hai
Whatever-whatever we do do do…
Papa toh band bajaye
Papa toh band bajaye
Papa toh band bajaye
Papa toh band bajaye
Din ho full of aankh matakka
Har ek raat party night
[Night night night]
Par apne khwabon pe baitha
Papa banke dynamite …
Par apne khwabon pe baitha
Papa banke dynamite …
Dynamite.. Dynamite..
Idiot ho, tum gadhe ho
Abhi tumhe knowledge nahi hai
Humse panga lene wali
Abhi tumhari age nahi hai
Whatever-whatever we do do do…
Papa toh band bajaye
Papa toh band bajaye
Arey! naa jaane kyun baat-baat pe
Karte humko grill n fry !
[Fry fry fry]
Hum thoda sa chill kar le toh
Isme problem kya hai bhai?
[Bhai bhai bhai]
Hum thoda sa chill kar le toh
Isme problem kya hai bhai?
Hey bhai.. Hey bhai..
Idiot ho, tum gadhe ho
Abhi tumhe knowledge nahi hai
Humse panga lene wali
Abhi tumhari age nahi hai
Whatever-whatever we do do do…
Papa toh band bajaye
Papa toh band bajaye
Papa toh band bajaye
Principal khud ban jaaye
Keep quiet rule banaye
Har pal bas yeh chilaaye
Idiot ho, tum gadhe ho
Abhi tumhe knowledge nahi hai
Humse panga lene wali
Abhi tumhari age nahi hai

Hume Tumse Mohabbat Hui Hai Lyrics

Hume tumse mohabbat hui hai
Hume tumse mohabbat hui hai
Oh jaaneman do you know..
Haan hume tumse mohabbat hui hai
Oh jaaneman do you know..
Iss dil se sharart hui hai
Oh jaaneman do you know..
Kaise kab ho gaya
Kya gazab ho gaya
Hume kuch bhi pata na chala
Ho meri nafrat bhi chahat hui hai
Oh jaaneman do you know..
Haan hume tumse mohabbat hui hai
Arey oh jaaneman do you know..
Kar loon main something something
Aaj itni izaazat toh de
Let me do thinking thinking
Mujhe itni si mauhalat toh de
Tell me..tell me tell me
Tere hothon pe joh baat hai
Itni jaldi kya hai
Haan abhi toh yeh shuruaat hai
Dard mein bhi toh rahat hui hai
Dard mein bhi toh rahat hui hai
Oh jaaneman do you know..
Hume tumse mohabbat hui hai
Oh jaaneman do you know..
Chori..toh humne ki hai
Par churaya hai dil pehli baar
Jhootha..thoda jootha
Thoda sacha lage mera yaar
Doori..kis liye hai
Kis liye hai bhala faasla
Aao..baazuaon mein
Pehle sehra toh sur pe sajaa
Kya kahoon kaisi haalat hui hai
Kya kahoon kaisi haalat hui hai
Arey oh jaaneman do you know..
Haan hume tumse mohabbat hui hai
Oh jaaneman do you know..
Iss dil se sharart hui hai
Oh jaaneman do you know..
Kaise kab ho gaya
Kya gazab ho gaya
Hume kuch bhi pata na chala
Haye meri nafrat bhi chahat hui hai
Oh jaaneman do you know..
Haan hume tumse mohabbat hui hai
Arey oh jaaneman do you know..

Tu Hi Mera Lyrics

Ho tere ishq mein dooba rahe
Din-raat yunhi sada
Mere khwaab se aankhein teri naa hoye juda
Mera naam tu haathon pe apne likhe baar haan
Aye kaash ke aisa bhi din laaye woh Khuda
Tu hi mera mera mera [x8]
Tu hi mera aa aa.. [x2]
Tu hi mera mera mera [x4]

Hai teri chahat meri zaroorat
Sooni hai tujh bin duniya meri
Naa reh sakoonga main door inse
Hai meri jannat galiya teri
Ho... ho ...
Ho.. teri
Hai teri chahat meri zaroorat
Sooni hai tujh bin duniya meri
Naa reh sakoonga main door inse
Hai meri jannat galiya teri

Ummeed ye seene mein leke main hoo jee raha
Kabhi tu mile kahe mujhse ke main hoon tera

Tu hi mera mera mera [x8]

Tu hai qismat tu hi hai rehmat
Tujhse hi judi hai meri har khushi
Tu hi mohabbat, tu hai raahat
Lagti bhali hai teri saadgi
Paata hoon khud ko tere bina tanha
Mujhe thaam le, mujhe rok le
Bhatka hoon main bhatka

Tu hi mera mera mera
Tu hi mera aa aa..
Tu hi mera mera mera

Chikni Chameli Lyrics

Bichhu mere naina, badi zehereeli aankh maare
Kamsin kamariya saali ik thumke se lakh maare

Haaye!
Bichhu mere naina, badi zehereeli aankh maare
Kamsin kamariya saali ik thumke se lakh maare
Note hazaaro'n ke, khulla chhutta karaane aayi
Husn ki teelli se beedi-chillam jalaane aayi

Aaayi ! chikni chameli chhup ke akeli pawwa (quarter) chadha ke aayi (x4 times)

Jungle mein aaj mangal karungi main
Bhookhe sheron se khelungi main
Makkhan jaisi hatheli pe jalte angaare le lungi main
Haaye! gehre paani ki machhli hoon Raja
Ghaat Ghaat dariya mein ghoomi hoon main
Teri nazro ki leharo'n se haar ke aaj doobi hoon main

DIY: DESIGN YOUR OWN LUCITE TRAY

One of the unexpected side effects of competing in the Apartment Therapy Small Cool contest has been all the questions about where items in my apartment came from, and it's been a lot of fun digging through my old e-files! I came across this lucite tray DIY, one of my all time favorites (as in:  it was actually successful).

Container Store bathroom catch-all + wrapping paper = cheetah print tray. Details here.

My most recent DIY was the "artwork" over my credenza. $10 of acrylic paint and poster board at the craft store, and a set of IKEA frames.

The bracelet that inspired the pattern.

Tu hai mera yar lyrics, Film Muskura k dekh zara

{Tu Hai Mera Yaar, Tu Hay Meraa Pyaar
Tu Hai Mere Dil Ka Karaar} x 2

Aye Mere Jaane Wafa
Aa Mere Baahon Mein Aa
Ik Pal Na Dekhun To Lagta Hai Aise
Beetein Jaise Sadiyaan Hazaar

Ye Kaisa Teri Adaa Ne
Jaadu Sa Dil Hai Bakhera
Madhosh Sa Ho Gaya Main Haye
Mujhko Nahin Hosh Mera
Aye Mere Jaane Wafa
Aa Mere Baahon Mein Aa
Tu Hai Mera Yaar, Tu Hai Mera Pyaar
Tu Hai Mere Dil Ka Karaar

Ruki Ruki Seenay Ki Dhadkan
Bhuji Bhuji Zindgani
Haye Cheer Dil Ko Hai Jaati
Aate Jaate Saanson Ki Rawani

Aye Mere Jaane Wafa
Aa Mere Baahon Mein Aa
Tu Hai Mera Yaar, Tu Hai Mera Pyaar
Tu Hai Mere Dil Ka Karaar

Aankhon Mein Tere Hi Sapne
Honthon Pe Teri Kahani
Tu Hai Mere Dil Ki Dhadkan
Tu Hai Meri Zindgani

Aye Mere Jaane Wafa
Aa Mere Baahon Mein Aa
Tu Hai Mera Yaar, Tu Hai Mera Pyaar
Tu Hai Mere Dil Ka Karaar
Ik Pal Na Dekhun To Lagta Hai Aise
Beetein Jaise Sadiyaan Hazaar
Tu Hai Mera Yaar, Tu Hai Mera Pyaar

Tu Hai Mere Dil Ka Karaar

SANITY FAIR ON APARTMENT THERAPY

Every year Apartment Therapy hosts the Small Cool Contest - a celebration of living big in little spaces. I entered this year, and I hope you'll visit the site and "like" my place by clicking HERE! Voting continues until April 30. Want a tour? Step inside (it's a squeeze, but you'll fit, I promise).

STATS
Type:  Studio
Downers:  425 square feet, on a good day
Upers:  light, location, and parque wood floors
Style:  Palm Beach Petite

Step into my office...
Details:  The walls are Hanging Vine by Mythic Paint. Desk from Home Decorators, with coral pulls from Anthropologie. The large carved bamboo mirror is a thrift store find I painted up to match the desk, and the picture frames are all vintage pieces I grouped together and painted to give the appearance of a matched set. The chair is Ballard Designs and the cushion is Python by Premier Prints. On the desk is a Crate and Barrel gourd lamp, Target tray, and random other bits from vintage stores. Nearby is a Chinese garden stool from World Market. My favorite thing about the space are the photos; I printed out my pictures in black and white and had custom mats done to give them uniformity.

A close-up of the desk.

Turn around, and you're standing in the living room...
Details:  As small as the apartment is, I didn't want "dollhouse" furniture - everything can be used in a larger home later. The credenza (scored on eBay) is full-sized, and packed to the gills. It's all about the storage! The "art" over the credenza is my 10-buck attempt at a temporary filler for the space. I painted some posterboard and mounted it in IKEA frames using acrylic paint from the craft store. The bookcase you see to the right is IKEA, used as a room divider. Framed photo, my own. More Ballard Designs side chairs, and yet another World Market Chinese garden stool, balance the couch. The barely-there lucite nesting tables make the perfect coffee table; I can eat a casual TV dinner or serve appetizers without taking up visual space. The rug is actually carpet tiles from Flor. The pillows are still works in progress - they don't match the drapes (and two of them don't even have covers). More work to be done!

One of the lucite nesting tables, piled with malachite, shells, and jewelry.

Another view of the credenza. The lamps are vintage finds with Target shades; I gave them a little height by placing them on lucite stands. The giant green foo dogs and I are friends (and they never bark).

A peek into the "bedroom" (on the other side of the IKEA divider). You're lucky - I made the bed today!
After hanging some of my favorite D.C. art, I felt it was a little too traditional and added magazine ads from J.Crew and Kate Spade in IKEA frames. West Elm bedding, vintage Chinese screen, Home Goods sunburst mirror and lamp, and vintage gold bamboo-style table. The lattice accent pillows are Windsor Smith for Kravet, ordered from Etsy.

The "dining room" and walk-in kitchen.
The table is a carved bamboo, made in England and found in an antique store; I painted it a high gloss black to match the chairs. The plates are a bit of everything from Tiffany's to Urban Outfitters! Since the kitchen is a part of the living space, I carried the green theme inside with moss topiaries, a vintage tulipiere, and woven baskets and trays to corral clutter.

I hope you enjoyed the tour! This is my first apartment, and I'm having so much fun putting it together. There are more pictures on Apartment Therapy - please go to the site by clicking HERE and vote for Sanity Fair!!! You can also find more images on Pinterest, HERE.

PLATE WALLS

Oscar de la Renta's home in the 1970s; this room is the love child of a Delft factory and a Magic Eye picture. Where do the walls end and decorations begin? Low lamps on Chinese stools are unexpected, as is the fabric scalloped border, draped across the mirror's north line. Don't miss the little ceramic frog...

At low resolution, it's challenging to make out whether these plates are ironstone, ceramic, patterned, or solid... but the sudden effect of weight on the wall is a counterpoint to the lightness of the room that lends gravitas.

A twist on the classic color combination of trees and sky; this pistachio green punches up the plates, and don't miss the delft details in chandelier and sconces. I'm curious about the rug - custom?

My apartment, with a dramatic dose of color. I didn't find the Baratta design above until after painting the walls green - perhaps if I'd been fortified with more color courage from the above image, I'd have spent less time agonizing in the paint aisle. My own plates are a mix of Tiffany, Urban Outfitters, unidentifiable thrift, Home Goods, Wedgewood and Delft acquired on travel, and Anthropologie. The only thing I'd change? More plates. I'm thinking some very small ones slipped in around the sides...

Soft, soft, soft... I feel convinced that dinner parties in this room must be quieter, more congenial. The symmetry of the plates is steadying - it's an orderly space.

The look of NOW. Old stuff in new colors. The Louder Is Living Club. Could this be any different than the room above? I believe those plates may be jadite - if you're inspired, grab an armful off of Etsy.

A ROLLING STONE

Charlotte Moss for Fabricut fabrics.

...gathers no Moss. Charlotte Moss visited the Washington Design Center today, and admonished designers hoping to make it on the quick:  "Work, work, work!" Her talk was a breathless tour of exteriors (India to Europe) and interiors (fabric design to fetes in French chateaus), that left audience members slightly winded - Q&A revolved around one central question:  how do you do it all? To which, Charlotte:  "Work, work, work!" And if you're not talented? "Work harder!"

Moss's line for Fabricut, Caroline, displayed in the Currant, Forget Me Not, Grass, and Rattan colorways - her presentation included images of the baskets in her own home that inspired the pattern. Her furniture for Century also incorporates a subtle basketweave.

You've seen the ad...

Sadly, the dogs were not included. A fabulous skirt and crisp white shirt - Carolina Herrera would wear this!

Moss's newest book, her EIGHTH, comes out in October - it's on scrapbooking.
"A house is like a scrapbook - an accumulation, layered, autobiographical." - Charlotte Moss. DC can be grateful to Moss for sharing some of her own autobigraphy - she is an inspiration!

Anarkali Disco Chali Lyrics

Jhoomar bhi main bhool gayi
Jaane ja tere liye
(Wah wah wah kya bol rahi ho)
Arrey jhumka bhi main bhool gayi
Jaane ja tere liye
Arrey main toh sab kuch bhool gayi
Jaane ja tere liye
Tere liye, tere liye, tere liye
(Toh phir kya hua)
Arrey chod chaad ke apne Saleem ki gali
Oye hoye chod chaad ke apne Saleem ki gali
Anarkali disco chali
Arrey chod chaad ke apne Saleem ki gali
Anarkali disco chali
Arrey dekh ke tujhko mujhko
Machi re khalbali
Anarkali disco chali
Chali re chali disco chali
Anarkali disco chali

...
Anarkali rock the floor tonight

Ik situmber ne mujhko
Deewaron mein chunwaya
Mere dil ki dhadkan pe
Lakh pehre lagwaya
Mujhko pyaari azaadi
Qaid mein apne hi rehna
Zulm zaalim hai nasheen ka
Ab na hai mujhko sehna
Mujhko hip-hop sikha de
Beat ko top kara de
Thoda sa trance baja de
Mujhko ik chance dila de
Main ghoom loon, main jhoom loon, main jhoom loon

Arrey chod chaad ke apne Saleem ki gali
Oye hoye chod chaad ke apne Saleem ki gali
Anarkali disco chali

Arrey dekh ke tujhko dil mein machi re khalbali
Anarkali disco chali
Chali re chali, disco chali
Anarkali disco chali
Anarkali disco chali

Hogi mashoor abh toh
Teri meri love story
Teri beauty ne mujhko
Maar daala chhori
Thoda sa de attention
Mita de meri tension
Aaj tera badan hai
Tere touch mein jalan hai
Tu koi item bomb hai
Mera dil bhi garam hai
Thanda thanda cool kar de
Beautiful bhool kar de
Arrey tu hai dwa har dard ki har dard ki

Arrey chod chaad ke apne Saleem ki gali

Aye hoye chod chaad ke apne Saleem ki gali
Anarkali disco chali

Arrey dekh ke tujhko dil mein machi re khalbali
Anarkali disco chali
Chali re chali, disco chali
Anarkali disco chali
Chali re chali
